  1. Gardens must be planted by the second Sunday in June. Gardens not planted by that date become available for others to use. NO refunds will be issued after June 1st.


  2. If for any reason you are unable to care for your garden the entire season, please let the garden steward know as soon as possible.


  3. Please maintain your raised bed/plot in a healthy manner. Chemicals, insecticides, fertilizers, and other soil amendments not approved for organic gardening cannot be used within the Community Garden. Ask around for ideas!


  4. Gardens must be kept reasonably weed free. Do not allow weeds to go to seed and pulled weeds must be placed around the edge of your plot or removed. If you do not properly maintain your bed, all plants will be removed, and the bed will be assigned to someone else.


  5. Love your neighbor, try to keep plants and vines within your box or plot. Only harvest your own bed and be considerate of where you plant tall plants so as not to shade other boxes or plots. If you have a problem with anyone, please discuss it with them and the steward of the garden.


  6. For pest and weed management, all gardens must be clean and free of spent plant material by Halloween. Participants with tilled plots are responsible for removing stakes, fences, and debris from their plots as well as wire, metal or poly-type materials which will damage plows and tillers. All sunflower and corn stalks must be placed in designated areas at the end of the season or chopped fine and incorporated into your soil. To promote soil health, the application of soil amendments and sowing of cover crops is encouraged on all plots.


  7. Produce grown in the Morristown Community Garden may not be sold or used for profit.
