Field Days


2023 ALL-DAY SUMMER RECREATION: 7 WEEKS OF FUN, ACTIVITIES, SWIMMING, AND FIELD TRIPS!

The Morristown Summer Recreation Program is an all-day children’s program. Our program offers a fun, safe and healthy program to promote healthy eating and exercise with a variety of planned activities throughout our local community and beyond for children ages 6 through 12. 
 
The 2023 summer program runs Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM beginning Monday, June 26 and ending Friday, August 11 (Closed Monday, July 4) at the Peoples Academy Gymnasium.
 
In the morning campers participate in daily activities such as arts & crafts, nature adventures, and other indoor and outdoor activities. Following lunch, we head to various outings throughout the community, hikes, and field trips arriving back at the Peoples Academy Gymnasium at 3:30 PM for pick up by 4:30 PM sharp.  

Once a week there is a field trip to a variety of locations including a local Sugarhouse tour, Rokeby Museum, Echo Center, Ethan Allan Cruise, Montshire Museum, Lamoille Field Days, Get Air, Petra Cliffs, Whales Tales, Danville Corn Maze as well as local hikes with a stream swimming and rock hopping. This year's camp will include a bike safety week where campers will have the opportunity to learn new bike skills, how their bike and helmet should properly fit as well as tune and maintain their bikes properly. We are partnering with Local Motion's bike smart program and are renting a trailer of bikes. If your child has a bike at home they are welcome and encouraged to bring it. If not we are happy to provide one through the program!
 
A parent handbook will be sent upon registration, as well as provided on the first day of the program.  Please read it carefully as the information is very important.  Our policies, procedures, and camper rules are made to ensure a safe and fun environment for our campers and counselors.

Registration Deadlines
Early registration opens to Morristown residents March 8-19, 2023.

Registration opens to non-residents March 20, 2023.

Early Drop off/Late Pickup
  • Parents who picked up after 4:30 PM will be charged an additional $10 per occurrence.
  • Failure to pay will result in termination from the program.
  • We do NOT offer an early drop off, this time is for our staff to prepare for the day, please respect this time and make arrangements to drop off between 7:30-8:30am.
  • Doors will be locked at 8:30.

Payment Information

$50 non-refundable deposit due if not paying in full at time of registration.

Entire summer must be paid in full by June 25, 2023 to receive discounted rate. After June 26, 2023 weekly rate applies.

Weekly payments are due in full the Sunday before the week of attendance.
